Sehome sweeps Burlington-Edison 7-0

Sehome’s girls’ tennis team swept all its matches in a 7-0 victory against Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, March 24, at Burlington-Edison High School.

The first doubles match consisting of the Mariners’ Madison and Taylor Harris defeated the Tigers’ Jessica Maskell and Sydney Parkinson 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in the standout match, Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview.

“It was a very competitive match,” Giller said. “They exhibited mental toughness to get through the match.”

Sidney Balfour’s singles match stood out to Giller as well in her second time playing singles varsity.

Sehome takes on Squalicum next at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at home in a make up match.
