Blaine falls to Squalicum 5-2

Blaine’s girls’ tennis team was defeated by Squalicum 5-2 on Tuesday, March 17, at Squalicum High School.

The Borderites’ Saskia Dolk defeated Sarah Byron in two sets for the lone singles win for Blaine. Gretchen Kordas and Caitlyn Sharpe also earned a win in two sets against the Storm’s Audrey Goo and Thu Thon.

“All of our singles players competed hard even if the scores didn’t quite show it,” “Our second doubles match played well enough to come away with a win.”

Squalicum’s Hope Jorgensen defeated Chloe Foster in two sets in the singles. Kim Dorr and Rachell Door defeated the Borderites’ Mandy Hayes and Emily Rowe in the first doubles match.

Blaine will take on Granite Falls next at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, on the road and Squalicum plays Ferndale next at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, on the road.
