Cronk takes first for Baker at Washington

Mount Baker’s boys’ wrestling team had a first-place finisher at the Washington High School all-comer’s meet on Saturday, Jan. 31, in Tacoma.

Jerimiah Cronk finished first in the 145-pound weight class, JT Keeney took second at 195 and Jesus Torrero was third in the 120-pound division.

“Jerimiah won all his matches by pin in the first round,” Mount Baker coach Roger Goodwin said in a phone interview. “He did a good job using a variety of takedowns, which opened up opportunities. He wrestled to create variety, which was one of our objectives.”

Up next for Mount Baker is the Class 1A Sub-regional Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mount Baker.
