Blaine’s boys’ wrestling team won most of its matches in the middle weight classes, but forfeited in the higher weight classes in its 39-35 loss to Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Sedro-Woolley High School.
The Borderites’ Garrison Folk defeated his opponent 10-6 in the 113 weight class, Gage Lott (132) pinned, Billy Dodd (138) pinned and Anthony Frey (145) pinned. Riley Fritsch (152) and Caleb Frey (160) defeated their opponent 15-0 and 4-0, respectively.
“Our guys in the middle were all competitive and did their job tonight,” Blaine coach Craig Foster said in a phone interview.
The standout match of the night for Foster came from the 126-pound Colton Economy, he said.

“I was most proud of a loss we had with Colton. He wrestled a really solid match in a 5-1 loss. His opponent is one of the favorites for a state championship,” Foster said.
Blaine will wrestle Bellingham next at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at home.
