What he did: Started the year 18-0 in singles play before dropping his final two matches of the season — one in the Class 2A Northwest District title match and the other in the second-place match. Helped his team to a share of the district team title.

CHARLIE

CARMICHAEL

School: Bellingham

Year: Junior

What he did: Went 16-3 in singles play. Finished fourth at the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament after falling to the eventual champion and second-place finisher. Helped Bellingham to a 14-0 record in the regular season and the NWC title.

DAKOTA

DAVIS

School: Lynden

Year: Senior

What he did: Finished the year 12-4 in doubles play, all with playing partner Ben Mulder. Lost in the consolation rounds of the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament to eventual second-place finishers Drew Segren and Kevin Smiley from Squalicum.

REECE

GILBERT

School: Sehome

Year: Junior

What he did: Finished with a 17-6 record (12-4 in singles play and 5-2 in doubles ). Played singles throughout the regular season before teaming with Darren Ma for the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament. The duo went 5-2 in the postseason before finishing in fourth place.

MULDER

School: Lynden

Year: Senior

What he did: Was one half of the Lynden senior duo — the other half being Dakota Davis — that went 12-4 overall. Lost in the consolation rounds of the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament to eventual second-place finishers Drew Segren and Kevin Smiley from Squalicum.

School: Bellingham

Year: Senior

What he did: Finished 21-3 in doubles play with partner Zach Nolan. Lost to Sehome’s duo of Reece Gilbert and Darren Ma in the consolation rounds of the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament. Helped Bellingham to a 14-0 regular season record and an NWC title.

NOLAN

School: Bellingham

Year: Sophomore

What he did: Finished 21-3 in doubles play with partner Zach Nolan. Lost to Sehome’s duo of Reece Gilbert and Darren Ma in the consolation rounds of the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament. Helped Bellingham to a 14-0 regular season record and an NWC title.

Year: Senior

What he did: Went 19-2 in doubles play — all with longtime doubles partner Logan Schilder. Finished third at the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament, after falling to a Shorecrest duo in the district title match. Helped Bellingham to a 14-0 regular season record and an NWC title.

School: Bellingham

Year: Senior

What he did: The near 7-footer went 19-3 in doubles play, all but one coming with Nate Pearsall by his side. Finished third at the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament, after falling to a Shorecrest duo in the district title match. Helped Bellingham to a 14-0 regular season record and an NWC title.

SEGREN

School: Squalicum

Year: Senior

What he did: Went 18-1 overall (10-0 in singles play and 8-1 in doubles). Was perfect in the regular season at singles before partnering with Kevin Smiley for the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament, where the duo rolled to a second-place finish and earned a trip state. Helped Squalicum to a 10-3 regular season record.

AUSTIN

SHENTON

School: Bellingham

Year: Junior

What he did: Finished the year 18-2 in singles play. Lost only one match at the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament — to Max Shmotolokha in the quarterfinals — before scratching out of the consolation rounds. Helped the Red Raiders to a 14-0 regular season record and an NWC title.

KEVIN

SMILEY

School: Squalicum

Year: Junior

What he did: Went 15-4 overall (7-3 in singles play and 8-1 in doubles ). Played singles in the regular season before teaming up with Drew Segren for the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament, where the duo rolled to a second-place finish and earned a trip state. Helped Squalicum to a 10-3 regular season record.

COACH OF THE YEAR

STEVE CHRONISTER

School: Bellingham

What he did: Led the Red Raiders to a 14-0 overall record and 13-0 conference mark, including two winover Sehome. His team also took a share of the team title at the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament, tying Sehome with 18 points.
