“We were really pleased with this one,” Sehome coach Don Helling said in a phone interview. “We have quite a few new swimmers on the team, but there were good performances all the way around.”
Squalicum’s 200 backstroke relay of Franz Allendorfer, Rowan King, Jonathan Hegeberg and Matt Lovell picked up a meet record for finishing in 1:55.09.
Anacortes also picked up several meet records and impressed Helling with its success.
“We’re going to be a strong district this year. Anacortes added to what was already a very strong team from last year. Arhbishop Murphy is last year’s state champs. Everybody is back strong,” Helling said.
