Sehome ranked No. 2 in state

Sehome’s volleyball team will enter the Class 2A District Tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 5, as Washington state’s High School Volleyball Coaches Association No. 2-ranked 2A team.

The coaches poll was released on Monday, Nov. 3

The Mariners sit only behind No.1-ranked Tumwater. Sehome went 14-0 in the regular season, only dropping eight sets all year.

Sehome will kick off the postseason with a district opening match against Squalicum at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Squalicum High School.

Lynden Christian was ranked fourth in the 1A polls. The Lyncs were defeated by No.1-ranked Cedar Park Christian on Saturday, Nov. 1, in the 1A district championship game.

The Lyncs will play in the bi-district tournament Saturday, Nov. 8, at Cedar Park Christian High School.

Only one other Northwest Conference team — Burlington-Edison at No. 4 in the 2As — was ranked in the polls, which didn’t include Class 3A.
