Blaine’s volleyball team continued to work on its new offense in a 25-9, 25-13, 26-24 loss to Anacortes on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at home.
The Borderites were led by Josie Deming’s 16 assists and eight digs. Mikayla Deming added six kills and three blocks, and Nicole Ortega had three kills and eight digs.
“We worked on running more plays in a more advanced offense,” Blaine coach Bryan Clausen said in a phone interview. “Having a freshman setter, it has been hard to run an advanced system, but she’s catching up and has progressed a lot over the last month and a half. There were a few more errors than if we ran a standard offense, but we pushed the girls to be more aggressive.”
Blaine will look for further improvement on Thursday, Oct. 21, at Nooksack Valley.
