Bellingham’s volleyball team battled through two sets before pulling away in the third for a 25-22, 25-17, 25-10 win over Meridian on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Meridian High School.
Olivia Bjorklund had 10 kills, to go along with Cassidy Fulton’s 27 assists to lead the Red Raiders (6-4, 4-4 NWC).
“They stayed focused for all three games tonight and the serve-receive really stood out,” Bellingham coach Kim Bjorklund said in a phone interview. “Then we could run our offense. The whole team got to contribute tonight.”
For Meridian (0-9, 0-6 NWC), it was Julia Broussard (5 kills) and Ellie Dennis (2 kills, 9 digs) that stood out.
“We started off strong in the first and second set, serving well, attacking well, hitting well. Those were back and forth,” Meridian coach Shannon Claeys said in a phone interview. “The third set got quiet. The communication broke down. We had a lot of hitting errors.”
Bellingham faces Lynden on Thursday, Oct. 16, at home.
