Sehome volleyball remains No. 2 in polls

Sehome volleyball maintained its undefeated record, keeping its No. 2 ranking in the 2A state polls, as voted on by the coaches each week.

The Mariners have remained second behind Tumwater for each of the first four iterations of the poll, although fellow 2A schools Lynden and Burlington-Edison tumbled.

The Lions, who came in no lower than sixth in each of the first three polls, fell out of the rankings despite winning their last three matches all by straight sets. The defending-champion Tigers fell from No. 5 to No. 10 after losing in straight sets to Lynden Christian on Thursday, Oct. 9.

The Lyncs fell one spot in the 1A rankings from No. 2 to No. 3 despite handing the Class 2A champions a convincing defeat. Jumping undefeated LC was Cedar Park Christian.

Ferndale remained No. 10 in the 3A polls. The Golden Eagles’ only match last week was a straight-set win over Nooksack Valley.
