Ferndale’s volleyball team was in control as it earned a 25-10, 25-14, 25-16 Northwest Conference win over Nooksack Valley on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Nooksack Valley.
Peyton Morris led the Golden Eagles with five aces, and Julianna Olson added 12 kills.
“My girls were excited to come out and play,” Ferndale coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview. “It was a high-energy game. We were really focusing on taking care of our tempo and our accuracy on our side of the court.”
Nooksack Valley was led by Olivia Berkan’s six kills and 11 digs. Mariah Perry added 17 digs for the Pioneers.
“Our serve-receive was pretty good tonight,” Nooksack Valley coach Katie Emmons said in a phone interview. “We just had trouble finishing plays.”
Nooksack Valley takes on Mount Baker on Tuesday, Oct. 14, and Ferndale plays Burlington-Edison the same day.
