Lynden Christian’s volleyball team earned its first win over Northwest Conference rival Burlington-Edison since 2009 with a 3-0 victory on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Burlington-Edison.
Lynden Christian was led by Kara Bajema’s 11 kills and 14 digs. The Lyncs were in control from start to finish, winning 25-18, 25-15, 25-21.
“It was nice to play some good competition,” Lynden Christian coach Kim Grycel said in a phone interview. “It was a big win over a very strong program. Mentally it was good to get over the hump of them always winning. I thought we started well and finished well.”
Madison Weg added eight kills and four blocks, Morgan Van Kooten had three aces, five kills and eight blocks, and Emily Veening added 15 digs.
