The Lynden volleyball team cruised to a straight-set win over Meridian on Thursday, Oct. 2, in a Northwest Conference matchup at Lynden.
“Our girls came out and played really steady,” Lynden coach Julie Clift said in a phone interview. “They were able to ramp up the intensity as the match went on.”
The Trojans offered a good test in the first two sets, falling 25-16, 25-16 before losing the final set 25-11.
“Meridian hung tough,” Clift said. “They played really scrappy defense.”

Alexa Cox led the way for the Lions with 14 digs and four aces. Lauren Roddy added eight kills, and Isabelle Jacob tossed in four.
Claire Burkett led the Trojans with four kills and 18 digs. Emma Weg added four kills herself.
Lynden (3-4, NWC 3-2) faces Nooksack Valley at home on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Meridian (0-6, 0-4) travels to Anacortes that same day.
