Lynden struggles in losses to Burlington-Edison

The Lynden boys’ tennis team suffered consecutive 5-2 losses to Burlington-Edison on Thursday, Oct. 2, at Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference matchup.

The second match was a makeup from earlier in the season.

Doubles pairing Dakota Davis and Ben Mulder again showed they are one of the top teams in the conference, winning both of their matchups against Max Cook and Dante Zimmerman in straight sets.

As for the rest of the Lions, it was a rough day.

“I think we came out cold,” Lynden coach Trey Ballard said in a phone interview. “Burlington stepped up to take the early advantage.”

Carson Smith and the doubles team of Jo Meppelink and Cameron Muljat registered the other two wins.

Lynden (3-6, NWC 3-6) hosts Sedro-Woolley on Monday, Oct. 6.
