Tigers too fast for Storm, Pioneers

Wyatt Mullen led Burlington-Edison to a win over Squalicum and Nooksack Valley in a Northwest Conference meet on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Nooksack Valley Elementary.

The Tigers had 23 points, followed by Squalicum at 46 and Nooksack Valley at 65.

Chais Sugden was second overall and paced the Storm with a time of 13 minutes, 57.90 seconds on the 4k course. Nooksack Valley’s Conner Jones was third overall and led his team with a 14:26.70.

Chuck Dvorachek was Squalicum’s second runner with a 15:07.10, followed by Dylan Tomberlin (15:07.50) and Denny McAuliffe (15:22.60). Ethan Behee (15:36.30), Carl Peterson (15:37.00) and Curt Peila (15:40.00) rounded out the Storm’s top seven.

Nooksack Valley’s Zach Harvey was second for the team with a 15:13.40, with Valentin Villalobos (15:26.00), Jordan Hem (15:43.30) and Tyler Weed (16:23.30) following. Cole Tiemersma (16:52.90) and Colton Starbuck (16:55) rounded out the team.
