Sehome boys’ tennis earns win over Anacortes

The Sehome boys’ tennis team emerged with a 5-0 win over Anacortes in a rain-shortened Northwest Conference matchup on Friday, Sept. 26, at Sehome High School.

Between Max Shmotolokha, Brady Anderson and Reece Gilbert, the Mariners’ top three singles players, they dropped just five games the entire day.

But it was the play of doubles pairing Alex Harris and Kiefer Thomas that impressed coach Bonna Giller.

“With every game they played they got stronger,” Giller said in a phone interview. “That’s the best I’ve seen them play.”

Sehome (5-0) takes on Sedro-Woolley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, at Sedro-Woolley.
