Sehome ranked No. 2 in 2A by state volleyball coaches

The Sehome volleyball team debuted at No. 2 in the Class 2A State Volleyball Coaches’ rankings, which were released Sunday, Sept. 21.

The Mariners (3-0, 1-0 NWC) trailed only Tumwater, who placed sixth at last fall’s state tournament. Defending champion Burlington-Edison (1-0, 1-0) checked in at No. 4 in the poll, while Lynden (0-3, 0-1) was ranked fifth and Anacortes (2-1, 0-1) was sixth.

Ferndale (3-0, 1-0) also made the top 10 in Class 3A, as the Golden Eagles were ranked seventh behind No. 1 Mercer Island.

Class 1A and 1B rankings were not included in the release, which had Emerald Ridge No. 1 in Class 4A and Colfax atop the 2B rankings.
