For the second time this season, the Ferndale boys’ tennis team swept singles play, as the Golden Eagles evened their record with a 5-2 Northwest Conference victory over Anacortes on Friday, Sept. 19.
“The singles are playing really well as a team,” Ferndale coach Rudy Vendiola said in a phone interview.
Vendiola said Maxwell Jeffery had the match of the day with his 6-1, 6-4 win over Sam Rockwood at No. 1 singles, and Tate Freeman, Lake Sullivan and Colton Young did not lose a set in the other three singles matches.
Kobe Sullivan and Joshua Usery added a win at No. 3 doubles.
