Borderites volleyball team earns sweep of Sedro-Woolley

The Blaine volleyball team kept its perfect record in place with a sweep of Sedro-Woolley during a Northwest Conference match Thursday, Sept. 18, at Sedro-Woolley High School.

Senior outside hitter Elle Moore recorded eight kills and 15 digs, Dacia Blanco had 14 digs, Mikayla Deming had eight blocks and Nicole Ortega had four aces.

“We wanted to work on some of the things we struggled with the first couple of games,” Blaine coach Bryan Clausen said in a phone interview. “Serve-receive and little errors were hurting us, and we really improved (tonight).”

Blaine won 25-23, 25-16 and 25-19. With the win, the Borderites already have matched last year’s win total.

Blaine (3-0, 1-0 NWC) hosts Lynden next at 7 p.m. Sept. 23.
