Meridian’s volleyball team took a 25-17, 25-19, 25-13 loss to La Conner on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at La Conner High School.
Alexia Bernardy led the Trojans with six kills and 10 digs. Ellie Dennis added four kills, 11 digs and three aces, and Claire Burkett had four kills and 11 digs.
Taylor Brackinreed also had two aces and 16 assists.
“We came out playing with a lot of energy and digging balls and putting together some good plays, which I was excited about,” Meridian coach Shannon Claeys said in a phone interview. “Toward the end our passing wasn’t very good. We just couldn’t get anything going in that third set. They just need to believe in themselves that they are good players and toward the end just work on finishing.”
