Yanie Lee had two state qualifying times and Squalicum’s girls’ swim team rolled to a 135-33 victory over Burlington-Edison in the teams’ first meet of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Fidalgo Pool.
Lee swam the 100 freestyle in 57.8 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.6 to set her two state marks.
“It was a great performance,” Squalicum coach Steve Gibb said in a phone interview. “There were lots of people dropping times. It was good to see.”
Lee also assisted Squalicum in wins in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. The Storm had 13 district qualifying times.
Squalicum gets back in the pool on Thursday, Sept. 18, at Arne Hanna Aquatic Center. The Storm will face Bellingham and Anacortes.
