Outlook: Not only is Postma’s Lynden Christian girls’ cross country team a deep group this fall, the coach beleives consistent depth lies throughout the team. “We have fast runners, and then there is a good pack of girls all finishing within 45 seconds of each other,” Postma said in a phone interview. “We have a good mix of youth and experience.” The Lyncs return Ball, Morris, Young and Berendsen from last season’s state team, and Postma is excited for several others who could be strong contributors. Track and field standouts Brandy and Brianna Bruneau have come out to run, and Rutgers and Ten Pas are two others to watch. “I think they are fairly solid,” Postma said of his team. “It’s hard to tell as far as everything in cross country is so subjective with different courses and the different conditions. It’s hard to put a definitive title on the team, but it is a very solid group.”
