Squalicum’s girls’ cross country only had one runner in the top five but the team made it count, as Grace Oswin finished first in a field of 33 runners from Squalicum, Mount Baker and Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Whatcom Falls Park. No team scores were provided.
Grace Oswin ran the 2.5-mile track in 17 minutes, 3 seconds, beating out Sedro’s Stephanie Schlimmer by a mere three seconds.
The top five was rounded out by Baker’s Natalie Smith, Sedro’s Bryanna Barritt and Baker’s Katie Buss.
Mount Baker and Squalicum will both be present at the Sehome Invitational Saturday.
