Blaine’s Hillary Kiele may have finished ahead of all 30 runners but it was Bellingham’s girls’ cross country team that took home the team honors on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Burlington Airport.

Kiele’s Borderites only ran four runners, one short of qualifying a team score, but she finished in 20 minutes, 40 seconds on the 3.1-mile course.

Bellingham was led by Quincy Gale, who finished only nine seconds behind Kiele.

“There are some really exciting things to build on,” Bellingham coach Bill McClement said in a phone interview.
