SOFTBALL: Tigers edge Lynden in 8 innings

BURLINGTON-EDISON 1, LYNDEN 0 (8 INNINGS)

Lindsey Dawson singled to left field in the bottom of the eighth inning Friday, driving home Ariel Erlenbach for the game’s only run as Burlington-Edison defeated Lynden 1-0 in a Northwest Conference girls’ softball game at Burlington.

The Tigers (14-4 overall, 10-1 NWC) used three hits to load the bases before Dawson’s game-winner.

Dawson earned the pitching victory, holding the Lions (4-13, 2-9) to three hits. Justine Ellingson had two hits and Taylor Olson had one for Lynden, which plays at Bellingham on Tuesday.
