The Lynden boys’ soccer team got out to an early lead and never looked back on the way to a 3-0 shutout of Blaine at Bender Fields on Saturday.“We kicked our notoriously slow start, so that’s good,” Lynden coach Drew Smiley said in a phone interview. Matt Keiper put Lynden up about 10 minutes into the game off an Andrew Blair assist and then Blair followed up with one of his own about 20 minutes later on an assist from Spencer Watt and the half ended 2-0. Donnely Cardenas knocked in the final score off a feed from Jake Jones with about 10 minutes remaining.Eric Kodama notched the shutout in goal for Lynden.
