PREP GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Ryan becomes LC's all-time leading scorer

Brianne Ryan scored 19 points to become Lynden Christian’s girls’ all-time scoring leader and helped the Lyncs to a 76-27 victory over Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday at Lynden.

Ryan broke the previous record of 1,386 set by Melinda Mellema, now Melinda Kaemingk, in 1985. Her 19 points in Wednesday’s game gave her 1,390.

Ryan’s sister Kayleigh Ryan, recorded a double-double in the game with 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Joanie Reimer scored 14 points. Lynden Christian’s bench also played a big hand in the win with 33 points.

The win clinches at least a share of the Northwest Conference title for Lynden Christian.
