The Sehome girls’ basketball team started the game with intense defense and easily defeated visiting Sedro-Woolley 66-33 in Northwest Conference action on Wednesday.
The Mariners (7-2, 2-1 NWC) outscored the Cubs 26-8 in the second quarter to build a 41-16 halftime lead.“The girls came out with good intensity,” Sehome coach Ed Wissing said in a phone interview.
Brittany Todhunter scored nine of her team-high 15 points in the second quarter. Jackie Zender had 13 points and Lauren Gustafson added 11 points for Sehome.
