The Ferndale wrestling team won two of its three duals and finished third at the Burlington-Edison dual meet on Saturday.
“I think overall, we had some exciting matches,” Ferndale coach Erik Stevens said in a phone interview. “All in all, I think we wrestled really well in coming back from the break and after wrestling (Sedro-Woolley). I think the kids responded well.”
The Golden Eagles started the day by defeating Eastside Catholic by a lopsided score of 69-9, then fell to Marysville-Pilchuck 43-35 and ended with a 44-36 win over Burlington-Edison.
Jack Johnson (119 pounds), JJ. Reiser (130), Bryer Barmore (140) and Kyler Crow (171) all finished 3-0 on the day. Barmore and Crow each finished with two pins and a win by forfeit, Reiser had a pin and two victories by technical fall and Johnson had one pin and two wins by decision.
