Taylor Pothier scored 15 points and Max Hannah added 12 as Ferndale defeated Lynden 46-42 on Friday in Northwest Conference boys’ basketball play at Ferndale.
The Golden Eagles (5-3 overall, 1-0 NWC) trailed by four points after three quarters, but Max Hannah and Spencer Hannah each hit big shots midway through the fourth period to put Ferndale ahead, according to coach Scott Larrabee. The Golden Eagles kept the lead by making 11 of 15 free throws in the quarter.
“This is a big one for us,” Larrabee said. “We haven’t beat Lynden in about three years.”
Lynden (5-2, 1-1) was led by guard Brady Bomber, who scored 21 points. He was the only player for the Lions to score in double figures.
