The Lynden Christian girls’ basketball team shot better than 60 percent from the field in the first half, including 5 for 8 from 3-point range, to build a big first-half lead and cruise to a Northwest Conference victory over visiting Meridian Thursday.
The Lyncs (8-0, 2-0 NWC) led 47-10 at halftime and then shut out the Trojans in the fourth quarter.Brianne Ryan led four Lynden Christian players to score in double figures with her 18 points. Kenzie DeBoer had 12 and Joanie Reimer had 15.
Kayleigh Ryan’s 12 points led the Lyncs’ bench, which scored 24 in extended duty.
Meridian (0-8, 0-3), which shot 21.9 percent (7 of 32) from the field, was led by Bree Park’s six points and four from Alexis Wolf.
