Coach: Steve Gibb
Top swimmers: Aaron Korthuis (Sr.), Marc Woodyard (Sr.), Reed Woodyard (Jr.), Eric Leone (Jr.)
Outlook: Gibb, who coaches the Squali-cum girls in the fall, comes to Lynden to take over the boys’ program, which includes swimmers from Nooksack Valley and Lynden Christian. He faces an uphill climb with the Lions but said he has been pleased with the early season results he has seen in three meets so far, including a win over Bellingham on Tuesday. This is a young team with a lot of room to grow. Lynden did not have anybody compete at state last year, and it could finish in the middle of the pack in the conference race this year. Marc and Reed Woodyard are brothers who are new to the team after they relocated from the Midwest, and Gibb said both could make an impact on the team this year.
