PREP GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Sehome preview

SEHOME MARINERS

Coach: Ed Wissing

Last season: 21-7, (8-5 NWC), placed fourth at the Class 2A state tournament

Players to watch: Brittany Todhunter, (Sr., P), Lauren Gustafson, (Sr., G), Jackie Zender, (Sr., G), Kate Bodensteiner, (Sr. G)

Outlook: Sehome comes into this season with hopes of a state title after a third-place finish at state in 2006 and a fourth-place trophy last season. They might have the talent to reach that goal. Todhunter is a com-plete player who can score in the post or step away from the basket and be effective. She averaged 14.3 points per game. Gustafson is a slasher with range, while Zender is a quality long-range shooter who hit for 10.8 a contest. That inside-outside versatility will make the Mariners tough to match up with us. Inexperience on the bench could be a concern, but that should be less of an issue as the season goes on.
