PREP GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Lynden Christian preview

LYNDEN CHRISTIAN LYNCS

Coach: Curt DeHaan

Last season: 26-2, (12-1 NWC) placed third at Class 1A state tour-nament

Players to watch: Brianne Ryan, (Sr., F), Kenzie De Boer, (Jr., F), Joanie Reimer, (Sr., P), Shannon Brandsma, (Jr., G)

Outlook: Ryan and De Boer are the best one-two punch in the league. Both are capable scorers who com-bined for more than 30 points a game last season and good defenders who could lead Lynden Christian to a state title this year. Reimer brings good size to the post at 6-foot-2 and Brandsma runs the offense with precision. The Lyncs lost four sen-iors from last season’s team, but are deep enough to handle it. They always seem to bring a trophy back from the state tournament, but this could be a special season.
