PREP SOCCER PREVIEW: Five players to watch

ALYSSA MICHEL, BELLINGHAM, FORWARD

Michel scored 17 goals and had 16 assists as a sophomore last season. She’ll be Bellingham’s main scoring threat this year.

MARI TARLETON, SEHOME, FORWARD

Tarleton paced the Mariners with 14 goals and much will be expected of her as she enters her senior season. Teams will have to account for her.

TANYA HAGGEN, SEHOME, FOR-WARD

Haggen had 13 goals and 10 assists as a freshman despite missing time with an injury. She could br the conference’s leading scorer this season.

STEVI DAY, SQUALICUM, MID-FIELDER

Day’s biggest strength is that she knows when to pass and when to shoot. She’s not the biggest person on the field, but she can control the tempo. She’s gotten better every year.

KIRSTIN SALMINEN, LYNDEN, GOALIE

Salminen hasn’t had much help in front of her, but she’s remained one of the most dynamic keepers in the league. She kept Lynden in many games last season.
