WWU men’s golf tied for 14th at Cal State Stanislaus Invitational

Chris Hatch fired a 1-under par 71 in the second round, but it was one of the few highlights for Western Washington University during first-day play at the 42nd Annual Cal State Stanislaus/Jim Hanny Men’s Golf Invitational Tournament on Monday, Apr. 13, in Turlock, Calif.

The Vikings are tied for 14th after 36 holes in the 18-team field at 615 with rounds of 310 and 305. Cal State Monterey Bay holds a 20-stroke lead at 576 with two rounds of 288 and Chico State is second at 596 (300-296).

Hatch is WWU’s leader in the medalist standings, tied for 29th at 151 (80-71).

The Vikings’ Kyle Schrader is tied for 36th at 152 (76-76), Mark Strickland is tied for 49th at 154 (77-77), Brennan Emory is tied for 79th at 161 (77-84) and Anthony Allen is tied for 87th at 165 (84-81).

The medalist leader is Cal State Monterey Bay’s Anton Rosen at 6-under 138 after shooting two rounds of 69. He holds a six-stroke lead with three players tied for second at even par 144.
