WWU women’s golf 11th at Sonoma State West Region Preview

Only one Western Washington University player broke 80 and the Vikings are 11th among 19 teams at the Sonoma State University West Region Preview Women’s Golf Tournament which began Monday, Apr. 6, in Rohnert Park, Calif.

The Vikings, who totaled 327, were led by Kristen Hansen, who shot 79 and is tied for 23rd.

WWU’s Jenn Paul is tied for 38th (81), Anna Bourland is tied for 56th (83), Audrey Orem is tied for 59th (84) and Brooke Branigan is tied for 71st (86).

Barry FL and Newman KS are tied for first place in the team standings at 306 with West Texas A&M third at 308.

Leading in medalist play at 1-under par 71 is Brianna Areia from Cal State Monterey Bay. One shots behind her is Academy of Art’s Shu-Lin Lun.
