Western Washington University’s Jenn Paul is tied for 13th in medalist play and the Vikings are eighth in the team standings following first-day action Friday, Apr. 3, at the Western New Mexico University Mustang Intercollegiate Women’s Golf Tournament in Goodyear, Ariz.
The final round of the 19-team tourney begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4.
Paul shot a 4-over par 76 and WWU totaled 314. Tarleton State leads at 295, holding a seven-shot advantage over second-place Cameron (302). Cal Baptist is third at 303.
Just seven strokes separate the fourth through ninth-place teams.
The Vikings’ Kristen Hansen is tied for 23rd (77), with Brooke Branigan tied for 36th (79), Audrey Orem tied for 56th (82) and Anna Bourland 85th (88).
