WWU women tied for sixth after first day at CSUMB Otter Invitational

Western Washington University is tied for sixth place following first-day play Monday, March 23, at the Cal State University Monterey Bay Otter Women’s Golf Invitational in Monterey, Calif.

Tuesday’s final round begins at 8 a.m.

The Vikings shot an opening-day 323 to tie with Dartmouth. Host CSUMB holds a two-shot lead, 301 to 303, over second-place Nova Southeastern. Tied for third at 309 are Dallas Baptist and Academy of Art, with Incarnate Word fifth at 322.

WWU’s Jenn Paul is tied for 18th in medalist play at 7-over par 79, and Audrey Orem is tied for 21st (80).

The Vikings’ Brooke Branigan and Kristen Hansen are tied for 32nd (82) and Anna Bourland is tied for 50th (86).
