Pitcher Makinlee Sellevold extended her victory string to six with two winning performances, notching her second shutout of the season and hitting her first collegiate home run in the second game, as Western Washington University swept Central Washington University, 7-1 and 5-0, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference softball doubleheader on Sunday, March 8, at Viking Field on the WWU campus.
WWU improved to 11-7 overall and 4-2 in conference action.
Sellevold, 8-1, pitched 13 innings in the two contests, scattering 12 hits, none for extra bases, striking out six and issuing no walks.
The trio of first baseman Emily Benson, shortstop Alicia Fine and outfielder Alexie Levin had seven of the Vikings’ 10 hits, and drove in six and scored five of their seven runs.
