Western Washington softball scored an unearned run in the 11th inning to win the opener, 5-4, and the nightcap was halted after four innings because of darkness with the Vikings trailing 11-3 on Wednesday, March 4, at Viking Field.
In the opener, WWU pitcher Makinlee Sellevold went the distance in upping her record to 6-1.
In the bottom of the 11th, Cylie Richards pinch ran for the Vikings and was placed on second base via the tiebreaker rule. She was sacrificed to third, and scored on an error on a fielder’s choice by Arianna Barrio.
