Two former Western Washington University men’s soccer players, Gibson Bardsley and Oscar Jimenez, have signed contracts to play for the Tulsa Roughnecks in the team’s inaugural season in the United Soccer League.
Last fall, Bardsley played for Kiruna FF in Sweden’s Division 3. He scored eight goals and had four assists.
Bardsley has experience in the USL, scoring 14 goals for the Dayton Dutch Lions during the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
At WWU, Bardsley tied the school career scoring record with 41 goals from 2007 to 2010. He was named a first-team Daktronics All-American and Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

Jimenez was a four-year starter at midfield for the Vikings. He was the team’s captain his senior year and matched a school record with 22 career assists. Jimenez also scored 17 goals, being named a GNAC all-star three times and a West Region all-star twice.
After his collegiate career, Jimenez played the past two summers for the Seattle Sounders U-23 team.
