Western Washington University’s Katelyn Steen was named a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division II Cross Country All-American in an announcement Monday, Dec. 8.
Steen, a senior from Sammamish, finished fifth at the NCAA II National Championships on Saturday, becoming just the second cross country runner in school history to place among the top five individually at nationals.
The All-America honor was the second in cross country for Steen, who placed 34th at nationals last year, and the third overall. She was an All-America in track last spring, placing fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in school-record time.
