The Western Washington University women’s soccer squad placed five players on the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division II West Region All-Star Team announced Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Three Vikings were on the first team - forward Jessica Bertucci, midfielder Kim Cooper and defender Brianna Jones; and two to the second team - goalkeeper Ashley Haden and forward Catherine Miles.
Cooper, who was the 2014 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defender of the Year, was a first-team NSCAA all-region pick for the second straight year. Jones was a second-team choice in 2013.
Selected for the first time were Bertucci, Haden and Miles.

Copper, Haden and Jones led a WWU defense that had a 0.32 goals against average, allowed just seven goals, and posted 14 shutouts.
Miles scored eight goals, four of them game winners, and Bertucci had six goals and four assists. Jones had three goals and two assists, and Cooper three assists.
