Western Washington University guard Katie Colard has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball co-Player of the Week for Nov. 23-29.
Colard, a 5-foot-9 senior from McCleary, had 56 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists in leading the Vikings to three victories, including the championship of the WWU Lynda Goodrich Classic. She shot 58.1 percent from the field (18-of-31) and 61.5 percent from 3-point range (16-of-26).
Colard scored 23 points, connecting on 7-of-9 threes, in an 85-56 win over nationally No. 6-ranked Tampa FL.
Colard, who is averaging 16.0 points and 3.8 assists, shared the GNAC weekly honor with Erin Chambers of Simon Fraser University.
