Western Washington University led the way with five selections, topped by first-team senior defender Brianna Jones, on the Daktronics, Inc./NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer West Region All-Star Team announced Monday, Nov. 24.
Four Vikings were second-team picks — junior goalkeeper Ashley Haden, junior forwards Jessica Bertucci and Catherine Miles, and senior midfielder Kim Cooper.
Jones also was a first-team selection in 2013 and a second-team pick in 2012. Cooper, who was the 2014 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defender of the Year, was a second-team Daktronics all-region choice in 2013.
WWU finished 16-1-4, suffering its only loss, 1-0 to Cal State Stanislaus, in the second round of the NCAA II Tournament. The Vikings, who were the top seed at the West Regional, won the GNAC regular-season championship and reached the title game of the conference post-season tourney.

Cal State L.A. senior midfielder Heather Williams was named the 2014 West Region Player of the Year.
Haden, Jones, and Cooper led a WWU defense that had a 0.32 goals against average, allowing just seven goals, and posted 14 shutouts.
Miles scored eight goals, four of them game winners, and Bertucci had six goals and four assists. Jones had three goals and two assists, and Cooper had three assists.

First-team selections will be included on the All-America ballot. The 2014 Daktronics NCA II All-America Team will be announced on Dec. 3, three days prior to the DII Championship.
