Western Washington University middle blocker Kayla Erickson has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for Nov. 2-8.
Erickson, a senior from Gig Harbor, had no less than five kills in every set and hit for a .516 percentage as the Vikings swept home matches with Saint Martin’s and Western Oregon.
Her 36 kills represented 34.6 percent of WWU’s team total and her .654 attack percentage (17-0-26) in the win against Saint Martin’s was the Vikings’ best and the second highest in the GNAC this season. Erickson also had a team-leading five blocks in the two victories.
Erickson ranks second in school and GNAC history in career hitting percentage at .342 and needs just nine more kills to reach the 1,000 career milestone.
