Outside hitter Rachel Roeder had a match-high 19 kills and a .531 attack percentage and Kayla Erickson added 12 kills on .429 hitting as Western Washington University swept Montana State University Billings, 25-13, 25-21, 25-18, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference volleyball match on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Sam Carver Gymnasium on the WWU campus.
It was the sixth straight win for the Vikings, rated No.10 in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll, who improved to 16-4 overall and 9-2 in the GNAC play. They had a season-best .381 attack percentage.
Erickson had three kills and a block as WWU took a 5-1 lead in the first set. The Vikings finished the game with a 15-5 run, and Roeder had eight kills.
WWU scored three straight points to take an 18-15 lead in set two and closed it out with two kills by Roeder, who had six in the frame.

The Vikings took their first third set lead at 14-13 before closing out the match with a 9-2 run.
