Western Washington University’s Jenn Paul has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for Sept. 21-27.
Paul, a freshman from Bellingham (graduate of Bellingham High School), finished in a four-way tie for fifth in medalist play as she made her collegiate debut at the Western New Mexico University Mustang Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Phoenix, Arizona.
Paul shot rounds of 71 and 75 for a 36-hole total of 146. That helped the Vikings place third among a field of 16 in the WNMU team standings.
Paul placed second at the 2014 Class 2A state tournament last spring, while receiving Northwest Conference and Bellingham Herald Whatcom County Player of the Year honors. She finished among the top five at state all four years as a prep, helping Bellingham High to state titles each time.
