Asuncion’s homer leads Spokane to 9-1 win over Vancouver

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- Luis Asuncion hit a two-run homer in the first inning, leading the Spokane Indians to a 9-1 win over the Vancouver Canadians on Friday.

The home run by Asuncion scored Ryan Anderson to give the Indians a 2-0 lead.

The Indians later added runs in four additional innings to put the game away.

Teodoro Ortega (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Vancouver starter Adam Kloffenstein (0-1) took the loss in the Northwest League game.
